Step 1
The ZipUp Activation is the very first step in your Breathography Breath Cycle. The ZipUp Activation is designed to be a set-up for every single set of exercise in order to prep good posture and core engagement, and marks the beginning of your Breathography Breath Cycle.
Learning the Engaged Inhale (Double Sniff Inhale), teaches you how to use your inhalation as a bracing mechanism, a tool for improving lung capacity, a stimulant to the autonomic nervous system, and a way to “interval train” your carbon dioxide levels.
Teaching your client the Engaged Inhale serves the purposes of stabilizing the spine, upregulating the nervous system, increasing learning potential with inhale, increasing lung capacity, and improving mobility and stability of the thoracic spine and pelvis.
The 8 Second Engaged Exhale teaches you the Hows and Whys of the Four Breath Stages: Blow, Hiss, Soft Shh, and Loud Shh. The Breath Stages use specific sounds on the exhale in order to not only encourage the continuous airstream of the 8 Second Exhale, but also create a gentle resistance for the abs using the tongue and mouth.
