🌬️ This is mainly because your primary breathing muscle is your diaphragm, the movement of which beneath your lungs has a big effect on the size and shape of your rib cage and the muscles that surround your pelvis

The diaphragm is a BIG muscle. When you inhale it lowers down toward the pelvis, and when you exhale, it rises up toward your heart. This movement is called the zone of apposition

The stronger your diaphragm gets, the bigger your zone of apposition becomes and the more you are able to use your diaphragm as a tool to stabilize your spine, strengthen your core, and mobilize the muscles around the diaphragm that are affected by its movement
