Half-Kneel to Step-Up: Unlock Core Strength and Clean Mechanics from the Ground Up

Practicing step up mechanics starting from a half knee is a wonderful method of optimizing your core, your glutes, and your knee mechanics.

Firstly, from the half kneeling position, connect your core by loosening your ab-ribbon and staring at your knee. In fact, I would suggest having your knee be your meditation for the majority of the ascent and the descent in the step up.

Connecting to your breathing core as you combine both loosening and tightening the Ab-ribbon at strategic points over the course of the step up are going to greatly assist in stabilizing your lower back and optimizing your step up mechanics.
