Single leg squats are an extremely challenging exercise, but worth working up to because of the massive benefits, including making sure that you’re as strong on your right leg as you are on your left leg… It’s pretty easy to make compensations if you only work bilaterally, meaning Two legged positions.

Keep the Ab-ribbon loose at the base to help with lower back stability
in this video demonstration, I show you how you can perform different actions with the leg that’s not connected to the ground to challenge the supporting hip in a variety of ways.
If you are a beginner, please start with a kickstand leg, meaning, keeping the other leg connected to the ground , but using it as a kick stand where you don’t put a lot of weight on it, so you can emphasize that feeling of mostly strengthening the standing leg and the single leg spot.

Connecting to your breathing core in a single leg squat is key because your breathing core has the ability to stabilize your lower back and have you moving more from your hip joint, which is where you want to power your single leg squat from
Training your glutes, hamstrings, quads in the single leg spot is a great way to reduce the stresses on the lower back and the knee joint.
