Welcome.
I’m AJ, and this is HYPOXiX.

HYPOXiX is not a workout in the traditional sense.
It’s a method — one that layers precise breathing onto intentional movement to train both the brain and the body at the same time.

At the core of the method is a simple idea:
When we intentionally lower blood oxygen slightly and allow carbon dioxide to rise in a controlled way, the nervous system, cardiovascular system, and brain are forced to adapt — in a positive direction.

Most people think oxygen is the whole story.
But carbon dioxide is just as important.

CO₂ is what helps release oxygen from hemoglobin into the tissues.
It plays a key role in cerebral blood flow, nervous system regulation, and breathing efficiency.
When we never allow CO₂ to rise — which is common in stressed, over-breathing bodies — we lose access to those adaptations.

HYPOXiX trains tolerance, control, and efficiency — not force.

We Begin With the Breathing Method

Before we move into the hypoxic progressions, we will begin by learning the HYPOXiX breathing method, so you understand exactly how to apply it to the videos that follow.

This includes:

  • How to pace your breath

  • How to use the exhale

  • When breath retentions are appropriate

  • And how to modify in real time based on how your body responds

The breathing method is the foundation.
Everything else builds on it.

What This Program Is

This is a free Hypoxic Brain + Body program designed to introduce you to the method and to start a conversation around physiology, adaptation, and awareness.

You’ll have the option to wear a pulse oximeter during some of these sessions.
If you choose to, you can track how your blood oxygen responds to different breathing patterns and movement demands, and you’re invited to share that data in the community so we can discuss what you’re seeing.

This program starts slightly on the advanced side, because some of the progressions include breath retentions.
That’s intentional — but it’s also optional.

Important: Beginner Pathway

If you are new to breathwork, or if breath retentions feel overwhelming, I strongly recommend starting with the Breath + Brain + Body Beginner Program instead.

That program:

  • Uses only a towel and Ab-Ribbon

  • Focuses on nasal breathing only

  • Builds CO₂ tolerance without breath holds

  • Is ideal if you’re coming from stress, injury, postpartum recovery, or are simply newer to breath-based training

HYPOXiX is not about pushing — it’s about earning the progression.

Program Structure

This program is designed as a 7-day protocol, but it’s intentionally flexible.

You can easily extend it to 21–30 days by repeating each protocol 3–4 days in a row, which is often where the real adaptations begin.

Each day includes:

1. A Morning Core + Posture Practice
A short 3-minute video focused on:

  • Deep core activation

  • Postural awareness

  • Rapid progression of breath control

This practice escalates quickly in breath demand, so move with awareness.

2. One Key Functional Movement
The HYPOXiX Standing Split
my unique take on the split squat.

This movement trains:

  • Foot mechanics

  • Ground force

  • Core integration

  • Breath timing under load

Some progressions use the Band Squid system to add resistance, rotation, and complexity.
If you don’t have the Band Squid yet, that’s completely fine — you can focus on the breathing, positioning, and rhythm first.

Breath always comes before load.

Safety + Autonomy

You are always in control.

If at any point you feel:

  • Dizzy

  • Disoriented

  • A drop in movement quality

Immediately return to nasal breathing, reduce the breath hold, or pause.

HYPOXiX is not about how long you can hold your breath.
It’s about how calm, coordinated, and efficient you can stay while under challenge.

Final Thought

This program is an invitation — not a test.

Notice how your body responds.
Notice how your mind responds.
And if you choose to track oxygen, notice the patterns rather than the numbers alone.

Welcome to HYPOXiX.
Let’s begin.
