AJ is the inventor of Ab-Ribbon, an abdominal proprioception device for core and breath-work enhancement. She is also creator of HYPOXiX, a ground-breaking method of fitness programming integrated with evidence-based breathing patterns that restore core strength, and optimize the nervous system, body composition, and brain function. Her invention BANDSQUID is a band set creation that optimizes the length, tension, and attachment points of bands for a more effective workout.
Not only an inventor, AJ is also a researcher in the field of breath-work and exercise with her studies showing statistically significant results in the area of fat-loss, strength gain, and metabolic rate performing extended exhales and retentions with functional training. Her second study in partnership with New York Institute of Technology is looking at lactate, HRV, and hypoxia with her breathing technique.
AJ is privileged to prepare celebrity clients to grace the covers and pages of Health, Shape, Women’s Health, and Harper’s Bazaar magazines. Her work with premiere fitness brands Adidas and Reebok have led to successful marketing campaigns featuring Karlie Kloss and Danai Gurira. Prepping actors for roles that require a high level of strength and agility at both a muscular and cognitive level, is an area of specialty that AJ has used to prep actors for both Marvel productions and the AMC show The Walking Dead. AJ's scientific interest in altitude training has led her to become a world specialist at prepping actors for roles at altitude inside New York City's only sea level ALTITUDE.STUDIO. She uses her artistic sense, cultivated through years as a performer, and her 20 years knowledge in personal training and exercise science to create a plan for the actors to be as agile and vibrant at altitude as they are at sea-level!

First of all, as a trainer and individual AJ is positive, extremely smart and passionate about what she does and very caring. At the risk of sounding dramatic, the breathogrophy has been life changing for me. I have a stressful job which puts a lot of stress on my own nervous system. I have struggled with IBS for years and take daily medication which is pretty inconsistent in terms of how helpful it is. After the first week of doing regular breathing my Gl system was the best it's been in years. Throughout the course I actually stopped taking my medication and I have only needed to use it a handful of times since. I have struggled with significant bloat, pain, discomfort and frequent need to go to the bathroom and these symptoms have decreased significantly and on most days I don't have them at all.

Your breathing technique helped me find my deep abdominals for the first time in almost 20 years, I was able to do the supine (and even seared tilted back) abdominal work without pain in my hip flexors/psoas. Thank you so much! That was huge for me. In addition your approach and cueing to glute and hamstring strengthening was also incredibly helpful. Hi AJ! I've been on vacation in Hawaii for the last few davs and HOLY COW I CAN SEE MY ABS!! I've seen so much more definition in my abs. Especially right under my belly button which has been a difficult place for me to lose fat. Because there are scheduled days off from the total body classes, you can make up your class on another day that week easily.
