CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

All classes are held at between 7000-9000 feet altitude

Classes use Ab-Ribbon to enhance the connection not your Breathing Core. Ab-Ribbons will be provided in class. You can purchase one HERE.

HYPOXIX STRENGTH

Combining slow, controlled breathing with core and low impact strength circuits, this class at altitude stimulates muscular endurance, balance, core strength, and stress through the continuous integration of AJ's breathing method. The breathing method, Breathography, uses a 2 second inhale, and an 8 second exhale on 3 key sounds: Blow, Hiss, Shh. Once you learn the breathing method, you will feel your core working more in every exercise as your stress declines through the effects of breathing slowly. New research is coming out on this breathing method that provides evidence as to how stress can be minimized through the integration of controlled breathing with movement.

HYPOXIX MAT PILATES

Pilates is wonderful for relieving lower back pain through stabilizing and strengthening the core. When you integrate the HYPOXIX Breathing Method, you will feel your core MORE in every movement. This mat pilates class emphasizes creating connection to the breath in every classical mat Pilates sequence.

HYPOXIX YOGA

Yoga is wonderful for enhancing mobility and calming the nervous system. The integration of the HYPOXIX Breathing Technique into a yoga practice increases the meditative practice through the concentration on the sounds of the exhale. Additionally, the core activation of the Engaged Exhale, helps to enhance the hip mobility in every yoga pose in addition to reducing the risk of injury through the method's effect of stabilizing the back.

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

Steve Rousseau is a gifted yoga teacher, who specializes in breath-work and somatic yoga therapy. He guides you through a mind/body metamorphosis in his 45 minute classes. This class integrates altitude to enhance the somatic experience via increased blood-flow to the brain and relaxation of the body. Somatic experiencing is a therapeutic approach to trauma resolution. It focuses on the connection between the mind and body, helping to release trauma activation from the nervous system. A session typically involves tracking bodily sensations, rather than just recounting events, allowing the body to complete thwarted natural responses. It's a gentle and gradual process.
